Dugong Beach Lodge
The resort is located in The Sanctuary on the San Sebastian Peninsula which is a 30 000 ha conservation protected area incorporating both land and sea, situated on and around the San Sebastian peninsula along the Indian Ocean coastline of Mozambique. The Sanctuary forms the southernmost portion of the Bazaruto Archipelago and lies 20km south east across the bay from the town of Vilanculos. The Dugong Beach Lodge has 14 luxurious sea-facing chalets which have been tastefully decorated to reflect the style and ambiance of a true island getaway but with first class luxury finishes and amenities.
Each chalets has a huge double bed surrounded by a mosquito net.
All rooms are air conditioned and each one faces the sea. A private deck leads directly to the tidal estuary which is virtually on your doorstep where you can have a sundowner, marvel at the tidal changes and watch the fish and bird activity right in front of you.
En Suite Bathroom
Each Chalet has an en suite bathroom with his and hers basins.
There is an inter-leading bathroom with bath tub and shower as well as an outside shower for the more adventurous.
Wake up to the sunrise on your own private deck and walk a few steps down to the beach in front of you.
Suntan on a recliner during the day and then enjoy a sundowner in the late afternoon while taking in the glorious sunset over the lagoon.
Pool Deck & Bar
Pull up a recliner and relax at our pool deck and bar area overlooking the estuary.
Order a cold beverage from the bar, put on lots of sunscreen, and wile away the hours doing absolutely . . . nothing.
Enjoy your meals on our expansive veranda overlooking the jetty where the fish life will keep you mesmerised and entertained for hours.
Spot the dolphins coming into the estuary to feed at sunrise and sunset while enjoy a cup of coffee or sip on a cocktail in the evening.
There is no better place to unwind and relax.

Grab a book or grab one of our board games and settle into a comfortable couch in the lounge area.
Meals can be served in the adjoining dining area or out on the veranda – the choice is yours.
